EL CONVITE DE TOTONICAPÁN SERIES
In this series, he shows people dressed as cartoon characters. El Convite is an annual carnival a public dance, in which people traditionally dressed as characters from everyday life. Nowadays, the characters are from Hollywood and Disneyland; they are the new “identities” in this previously traditional world. Eny criticises Universalism and what he cals a “resistance” to folklores. It is and aestheticization of commodification. In his photographs, he directed the “puppets” in places around the city which were out of context. A satire of the contemporary era.
